Responsibilities

Microsoft is continuously expanding its efforts in artificial intelligence. Some of the latest results are available as part of Azure Cognitive Services (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/cognitive-services/). For our Speech efforts, we are looking for a working student to join the team under Xuedong Huang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/xdhuang).

We are seeking the brightest individuals to help drive forward our overall impact on the space of Artificial Intelligence and Speech Recognition in particular. As a Student Worker you will contribute to our highly scalable and reliable speech services. We are looking for a candidate with background in computer science. You will find great R&D opportunities working on large scale system in one of the world's largest cloud platform. You are up to the technical & competitive challenges of a fast-moving technology impacting many of Microsoft's key businesses.

Requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in your fulltime Bachelor or Master studies in computer science / machine learning – with final graduation in 2023 or 2024 (so having between 2 to 4 semesters left)
  • General computer science and software engineering experience
  • Experience and interest in working with backend containerized microservices (ex.: Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the C# and Python languages is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams of various sizes
  • Good interpersonal oral and written communications skills
  • Experience delivering results through collaboration across disciplines, feature teams, and partners Qualifications
  • Full work authorization and active student status is required
  • Fluency in English language

This position is located in Munich, Germany, and both working from home and hybrid work are possible.
